How we write, check and update every pattern.
Last updated: October 17, 2026
How we write patterns
- Every pattern uses US crochet terms and lists its abbreviations.
- Rounds and rows end with a stitch count so you can check your work as you go.
- Each pattern starts with a "pattern at a glance" summary: skill level, yarn weight, hook size, time and finished size.
- We explain tricky techniques in plain language and add tips where makers commonly get stuck.
- Safety notes are included wherever a project uses small parts or is intended for children.
Accuracy and updates
Before a pattern is published we check the stitch counts and instructions round by round. When readers report an error or something unclear, we review it and update the pattern; the "Updated" date at the top of the post shows the last significant change.
Independence and advertising
Our pattern choices are our own. Advertising keeps YarnBloom free, but advertisers never influence what we write. Ads are labelled, never placed inside round-by-round instructions, and never redirect you to another page. Any sponsored content or affiliate links will always be clearly disclosed.
Originality
We only publish patterns we have the right to share. If you believe something on our site infringes your work, please contact us and we will review it promptly.
