A snowman is two balls and a personality. This one has a body ball, a smaller head ball, a carrot nose that's a tiny cone, a top hat with a brim worked in one piece, and a scarf with fringe. Unlike most Christmas decor, a snowman is "winter", so he can stay out until the snow melts.

Common questions

How do I keep the head from flopping?

Stuff the neck area of both balls firmly, and sew around the join twice — once a round in from each edge.

Can I make a snowman family?

Yes: work the body with 30 stitches (stop at Rnd 5) and the head with 18 for a child, and add a bobble hat instead of the top hat.

White yarn shows dirt — any tips?

Use an acrylic you can wash, and keep your hands and hook clean. Some crocheters keep white projects in a pillowcase between sessions.
