This is the flower to learn first. Round 1 is ten single crochets in a magic ring; Round 2 turns every pair of stitches into a petal. Ten minutes, five petals, and endless uses: sew it on a beanie, glue it to a hair clip, or put it on a stem for a crochet bouquet.

Common questions
What is the easiest crochet flower for beginners?
This two-round flower: 10 sc in a magic ring, then (hdc, 3 dc, hdc) petals separated by slip stitches.
How do I make the petals pointier?
Work each petal as (hdc, dc, ch 2, dc, hdc) — the ch 2 makes a point.
What yarn makes the neatest flowers?
Mercerised cotton gives crisp petals with clear stitch definition. Acrylic gives softer, puffier flowers.
