A crochet boba tea keychain is a small cup that widens toward the top, with black French knots for tapioca pearls, a white domed lid and a straw. The cup goes from 12 to 16 stitches with two spaced increases, which gives the tapered bubble tea shape. In DK cotton on a 2.5 mm hook it's about 2 inches tall and takes 40 minutes.

Common questions

How do you make tapioca pearls on a crochet boba?

Sew black French knots around the bottom rounds of the cup before stuffing. Wrap the yarn twice around the needle for bigger pearls.

What hook size for a boba tea keychain?

A 2.5 mm hook with DK cotton gives tight stitches so stuffing doesn't show, and a cup about 2 inches tall.

How do I make the straw stand up?

Wrap a short piece of pipe cleaner with yarn. It stays straight and can be bent to an angle.
